چکیده
Retroperitoneal approach for anterior lumbar spine fusion (ALIF) surgery is a widespread used in surgery. It normally requires the use of metallic retractors fixed to operative table. The friction between blades and soft tissues can produce injuries. In this study, we present initial experience ALIF surgeries performed with Alexis retractor, self-holding retractor made 2 stiff plastic rings joined by cylindrical reinforced polyurethane sheath that provides 360° circular retraction. We believe its could provide an excellent exposure allow atraumatic retraction mini-invasive ALIF. case series 11 patients who underwent using ring wound retractor. all cases, pararectal retroperitoneal was performed. Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion
Historical Background Anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) was first used AQ1 in the treatment of tuberculosis and lumbar spondylolis-thesis. 1−3 Although described by Capener 4 in 1932 as the " ideal'' operation for spondylolisthesis, he further elaborated that " the technical difficulties of such procedure, however, preclude their trial.'' This statement was soon to be proven wrong by nume...
متن کاملAxial lumbar interbody fusion: a 6-year single-center experience
INTRODUCTION The aim of this study is to report our 6-year single-center experience with L5-S1 axial lumbar interbody fusion (AxiaLIF). METHODS A total of 131 patients with symptomatic degenerative disc disease refractory to nonsurgical treatment were treated with AxiaLIF at L5-S1, and were followed for a minimum of 1 year (mean: 21 months). Main outcomes included back and leg pain severity, ...
متن کاملAnterior interbody fusion of the lumbar spine.
Anterior interbody fusion of the lumbar spine by the extraperitoneal technique was performed in 47 patients with incapacitating low-back pain due to spondylolisthesis (26 patients) or disc degeneration (21 patients). The mean age was 38.2 years. Forty-five patients were re-examined 2--6 years postoperatively. According to the patients' own evaluation at follow-up, 53 per cent were free or almos...

STUDY DESIGN Prospective case series. PURPOSE To examine the clinical efficacy of mini-open anterior retroperitoneal lumbar interbody fusion: oblique lateral interbody fusion (OLIF) for degenerated lumbar spinal kyphoscoliosis. متن کاملMini-Open Anterior Retroperitoneal Lumbar Interbody Fusion: Oblique Lateral Interbody Fusion for Lumbar Spinal Degeneration Disease
PURPOSE Surgery for lumbar spinal degeneration disease is widely performed. While posterior decompression and fusion are popular, anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) is also used for treatment. Extreme lateral interbody fusion (XLIF) is commonly used for noninvasive ALIF; however, several complications, such as spinal nerve and psoas muscle injury, have been reported. In the current study, ...
